Requirements
- •4+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, or a related function, ideally in a high-growth or distributed company
- •Strong understanding of payroll fundamentals, including taxes, deductions, and compliance basics
- •Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS tools (Remote.com experience is a plus), including exposure to international payroll
- •Advanced spreadsheet skills (e.g., lookups) and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- •Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and handle sensitive information with discretion
- •Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C2 or equivalent)
What You'll Do
- •Support end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states and countries using Remote
- •Review and validate timekeeping data, including hours worked and PTO, ensuring accuracy before payroll runs
- •Process payroll changes including new hires, compensation updates, terminations, bonuses, and adjustments
- •Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.), including enrollments and life event changes
- •Manage contractor lifecycle operations, including agreements (SOWs), onboarding, and invoice schedules
- •Coordinate offboarding processes, including system updates, benefits terminations, and cross-functional alignment
- •Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to payroll and benefits, and support internal documentation and process improvements
Nice to Have
- •Experience in a remote-first or distributed company
- •Familiarity with multi-state payroll requirements in the U.S.
- •Exposure to benefits compliance (ACA, COBRA, etc.)
