Requirements

•Proven track record building and owning large-scale distributed services
•Technical depth to dive into architecture and guide technical strategy
•Experience driving operational excellence and owning services running at 99.99% SLOs
•Experience leveraging AI tooling to boost team productivity with lessons learned
•History of building and managing high-performing, accountable team cultures
•Comfort driving complex projects to completion without a dedicated TPM
•Experience leading distributed and remote teams effectively

•Lead a team building and operating large-scale distributed systems
•Lead the Dedicated Platform Integration team responsible for integration of third-party and modular features in the GitLab ecosystem
•Enable effective execution with quality and speed in partnership with the Product Manager
•Ensure 3+ 9s availability of Dedicated infrastructure, ensuring security and automating for scalability and number of tenants
•Provide clear direction, meaningful feedback and foster an environment where toil is automated and DevOps ownership is enforced
•Continuously improve owned artifacts optimizing platforms for self-service ownership of production
•Recruit, onboard and develop excellent and productive team members
•Be a role model by providing proof of concepts, simplifying processes and removing human toil
•Role model Incident Management best-practices, lead fast resolutions and escalations, train and codify best practices
•Use data-driven approach to prioritization, impact quantification, risk and technical debt management
•Use AI to demonstrate concepts and translate technical complexity to drive stakeholder decisions
