Requirements

What You'll Do
- •Monitor, analyze, and interpret state legislation and regulations primarily in California, focusing on emerging technology policy issues such as AI, data privacy, and content moderation
- •Develop and execute comprehensive policy strategies to influence legislative and regulatory outcomes, including drafting legislative language, preparing expert testimony, and creating detailed policy briefs
- •Engage directly in legislative and regulatory advocacy with elected officials, committee staff, and executive agency personnel to advocate for Google's official policy positions
- •Serve as an internal expert advising business and product teams on implications of emerging state policies
- •Build and maintain relationships with key policy opinion formers, trade associations, and third-party allies to support shared regulatory goals
- •Work with California State and Local team to develop and implement strategies for positive legislative results
- •Support California state and local team on public policy issues in coordination with broader team
- •Develop and deploy grassroots lobbying tactics and coalitions with local third parties
- •Liaise with local government
- •Manage various campaigns, projects, and initiatives within government affairs and public policy
