Requirements
- •8+ years of experience as a backend engineer designing complex, fast-growing systems
- •Ability to write advanced SQL statements beyond basic SELECT and UPDATE
- •High bar for quality and ability to discern important details

What You'll Do
- •Design, build, ship, and own end-to-end product features used by thousands of developers and hundreds of millions of end-users
- •Take ownership from problem scoping to production rollout to long-term maintenance
- •Write performant systems that operate at huge scale
- •Scope, prioritize, and drive rollout in partnership with Product team
- •Ship meaningful user-facing features to production, monitor usage and adoption, and improve them over time
- •Write high-quality, well-tested code, debug issues methodically, and provide feedback and mentorship
- •Meet frequently with team and mentor to get up to speed
- •Set up and get familiar with repositories, task management, and dev environment
- •Implement and ship first project
- •Get familiar with dashboards, logging, debugging tools, cloud providers, infrastructure, and architecture
- •Learn about mobile app economy and subscription-business concepts
- •Scope and work on projects self-sufficiently, end to end
- •Talk to customers or support to understand system usage and issues
- •Learn basics of incident response and join on-call rotation
- •Participate in code reviews and contribute to codebase quality and reliability
- •Understand every product owned by the team
- •Review code, write proposals, and contribute to architectural discussions
- •Contribute to team’s roadmap and technical direction
- •Be the go-to person on team’s focus areas
- •Ship major product or feature start to finish
- •Know all major system components and debug complex issues
- •Initiate product improvements based on customer and business priorities
- •Spec and architect medium-to-large projects, gather feedback, and drive design validation and rollout plans
- •Mentor other engineers
- •Push organization to improve reliability, scalability, and performance
