Requirements
- •Deep experience in performance engineering, specifically performance analysis of complex distributed systems
- •Ability to analyze performance issues across the entire stack from query optimizer to kernel and network layers
- •Expertise in either Linux kernel internals (virtual memory, scheduling, networking, IO) or database internals (query planning, storage engines, buffer and WAL management)
- •Strong knowledge of networking and cloud infrastructure performance including TCP behavior, network virtualization, and AWS primitives
- •Proven ability to translate performance insights into product and architecture improvements and influence cross-team priorities
- •Strong written communication skills with precise and reproducible problem characterizations
- •Pragmatic and tooling-oriented mindset comfortable working across product, infrastructure, and database teams
What You'll Do
- •Find bottlenecks in live production systems and characterize them precisely for teams to act on independently
- •Partner closely with database and infrastructure teams to implement performance improvements
- •Build, communicate, and evolve performance methodologies and tooling to turn production data into actionable insights
- •Collaborate with the observability team to capture signals and establish a unified view of platform performance
- •Help teams self-serve performance analysis and prioritize performance as a key engineering concern
