    Requirements

    • 5+ years in IT engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or IT automation with a track record of eliminating manual work through automation
    • Strong scripting and programming skills in Python and/or Bash
    • Fluency working with REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON
    • Hands-on experience with Jira Service Management including workflow and automation configuration
    • Experience administering or integrating Google Workspace and Cloud Identity (Okta)
    • Demonstrated experience building with AI including LLM APIs and prompt engineering
    • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Vertex AI for AI/agent workloads
    • Experience with workflow orchestration / iPaaS tooling such as n8n, Zapier, or Tines
    • Ability to mentor peers and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

    What You'll Do

    • Identify high-volume, repetitive IT processes and automate them end to end
    • Design and ship workflow automation across the IT service management platform including request types, approval flows, SLAs, queues, and automation rules
    • Build integrations between systems using APIs, webhooks, and iPaaS / orchestration tooling
    • Stand up and maintain self-service capabilities for employees
    • Define and track automation KPIs and report progress to IT leadership
    • Build, evaluate, and maintain AI agents for IT use cases
    • Implement guardrails and human-in-the-loop approval gates for AI agents
    • Apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent-orchestration patterns
    • Establish evaluation, monitoring, and audit practices for AI agents
    • Coach existing systems administrators in scripting, version control, API usage, and automation design
    • Establish engineering practices for the IT team including source control, code review, testing, documentation, and change management
    • Run knowledge-sharing sessions and create reusable templates, libraries, and playbooks
    • Champion an automation-first mindset
    • Own the lifecycle of automations and agents including monitoring, alerting, error handling, and graceful failure
    • Partner with Security and IT Compliance to ensure automated access provisioning and agent actions meet security requirements
    • Maintain clear documentation and runbooks for automations

    Nice to Have

    • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology company
    • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD concepts applied to IT automation
    • Exposure to data tooling such as SQL and BigQuery for reporting and agent context
    • Relevant certifications (Google Cloud, Google Workspace, Okta, JSM)
    • Experience standing up or contributing to an Automation Center of Excellence
