Requirements
- •8+ years in software engineering
- •3-4 years in engineering leadership managing multiple teams and engineering managers
- •Proven track record of delivery predictability at function level
- •Experience building and running engineering practices including SDLC, code review standards, and change management
- •Strong people leadership skills with experience hiring and managing engineering managers
- •Clear evidence-based point of view on AI-assisted development
- •Solid understanding of backend distributed systems in regulated environments
- •Data-driven with experience owning engineering metrics and prioritizing actions
- •Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- •Experience in regulated environments such as fintech, banking, or payments
What You'll Do
- •Own the unified Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and its governance and enforcement
- •Set and enforce engineering standards and practices across the function
- •People leadership of Engineering Managers including performance, growth, 1:1 cadence, and hiring
- •Manage backend change management with a regulator-ready audit trail
- •Own the function-level tech-debt roadmap and engineering capacity planning
- •Lead engineering incident response and post-mortems
- •Drive AI-first engineering standards and adoption across the function
- •Ensure fast escalation and resolution of blockers
- •Partner on architecture, quality, security, client-side engineering, and infrastructure standards
- •Accountable for delivery predictability across the engineering function
- •Manage cross-functional initiative delivery and engineering OKRs
Nice to Have
- •Background in crypto, Bitcoin, custody, or blockchain-adjacent engineering
- •Experience with Team Topologies organizational model
- •Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tooling beyond code completion
- •Experience with observability tooling in incident response
- •Multi-tribe or multi-squad coordination in fully remote, globally distributed engineering organizations
- •Contributions to engineering culture externally (writing, talks, open-source)
- •Experience in mobile-first organizations with iOS and Android as core products
