Requirements

•Proven engineering impact with experience driving outcomes in complex, production systems at scale
•Strong domain knowledge in billing systems, subscription management, payment processing, or financial platforms
•Experience designing and building APIs that serve multiple consumers and evolving systems without breaking integrations
•Outcome-driven and customer-focused mindset
•Cross-team leadership and proactive ownership with experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple teams
•AI fluency with understanding of appropriate use of AI coding tools in high-correctness domains
•Comfort with complexity and navigating large, mature codebases

•Serve as a technical leader within the Revenue Zone, partnering with Engineering, Product, and Design to shape strategy and roadmap decisions
•Shape the long-term platform vision by defining and evolving the architectural direction of the Revenue Zone
•Lead high-impact technical initiatives to evolve the monetization platform, including decoupling billing from account systems and consolidating pricing infrastructure
•Own and strengthen revenue-critical systems such as Billing, Pricing, Payments, Checkout, and Entitlements ensuring resilience, observability, and correctness
•Guide high-impact technical decisions including API design, data modeling, caching strategies, and system architecture
•Partner deeply across Zapier with Pricing & Packaging, Product, Design, Support, and Operations teams to drive ARR growth and improve customer experiences
•Drive measurable improvements by identifying performance bottlenecks and delivering optimizations
•Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through sharing patterns, tooling, and code reviews
•Champion documentation and developer experience to ensure systems are well-documented and easy to adopt
